Mighty Mo

Picture of Mighty Mo my cute red vw bug!

Welcome! I have always been a big fan of the VW bug! I wanted the bug back when it had the air cooled engines. My dream was to have a convertible bug. Well needless to say my husband felt very cramped and uncomfortable in them. So we never owned one. I just admired our friends orange bug a lot and envied them. As the years passed and the bug no longer was being sold in the US my heart sank to think I would not be a proud bug owner. Well to my surprise when it was announced that the bug was coming back I was so excited it was all I could talk about. We had just signed a 3 year lease on a different car when orders were being taken on the New Beetles. So I patiently waited out the 3 years. Well I am now the proud owner of a 2001 GLX Turbo New Beetle. I really love my bug! I have even named my bug Mighty Mo. Mo is automatic and has AC, automatic door locks, leather interior, electric sun roof as well as windows and many more features. There is one feature I really like and that is being able to have heated seats. Mo also has the 17" wheels. We wanted a cd player that not only plays cd's but mp3 files. So we bought a Kenwood deck at Car Toys. Boy does it sound great!

Mo's birthday is May 21, 2001. He had to spend the night at the dealer but the next day was a very exciting day not only for him but me as well. He got to come home. Mo loves the water. He really enjoyed visiting Depoe Bay, Oregon. We spent a whole week there during the week of 4th of July. We enjoy every chance we can get to visit the area. I to love the ocean.

One of the neatest things I have noticed is when Mo and I are out and about running errands that when we pass another bug old or new that everyone is waving and smiling. I had read on someone else's site that it's like being part of a family. I agree!

I live in the greater Seattle area. If you want to be specific I'm on the Eastside. Anyway I would love to meet other bug owners. It doesn't matter whether your bug is old and wise or young and spry. I thought it would be nice to have a site for all of us to share our fun times and photos of our beloved beetle's.

I'm new with all this but I thought if there was enough interest maybe forming an eastside VW Bug club. Otherwise it can be a site for cool pictures, interesting facts and a place for people to share things. Check back often as I plan to add things as i find things to add that may be of interest to everyone.
